Dragonboats “Paddling Under the Stars”
The Dragonboat races were a great success at Aqua Spectacular 2012 and attracted a crowd of competitors and observers. The weather was great and the Dragonboat teams were full of energy. This year is something new with the introduction of “Paddling Under the Stars” where the Dragonboats will be all lit up for an evening of fun!
Where: In front of rowing club
Time: 4pm for the WA State team
Training: 6pm – 9pm competitive “Paddling Under The Stars” in front of rowing club and paddling towards BREC.
This will be a series of match races incorporating two teams of 10 paddlers in dragon boats doing short distance races.
The boats will be festooned with coloured lights and reflector tape on paddles.
The course will be marked with glowsticks in plastic containers.
The Races will be in the following categories. Womens, mixed and open.
Up to 150 Dragon boat paddlers will be participating from WA clubs.
